詩140:1 （大衛的詩，交與伶長。）耶和華啊，求妳拯救我脫離凶惡的人，保護我脫離強暴的人。
Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
詩140:2 他們心中圖謀奸惡，常常聚集要爭戰。
Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
詩140:3 他們使舌頭尖利如蛇，嘴裏有虺蛇的毒氣。（細拉）
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
詩140:4 耶和華啊，求妳拯救我脫離惡人的手，保護我脫離強暴的人。他們圖謀推我跌倒。
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
詩140:5 驕傲人爲我暗設網羅和繩索，他們在路旁鋪下網，設下圈套。（細拉）
The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
詩140:6 我曾對耶和華說：“妳是我的　神。”耶和華啊，求妳留心聽我懇求的聲音！
I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
詩140:7 主耶和華，我救恩的力量啊，在爭戰的日子，妳遮蔽了我的頭。
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
詩140:8 耶和華啊，求妳不要遂惡人的心願，不要成就他們的計謀，恐怕他們自高。細拉
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
詩140:9 至于那些昂首圍困我的人，願他們嘴唇的奸惡，陷害（原文作“遮蔽”）自己。
As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
詩140:10 願火炭落在他們身上，願他們被丟在火中，抛在深坑裏，不能再起來。
Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
詩140:11 說惡言的人在地上必堅立不住。禍患必獵取強暴的人，將他打倒。
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
詩140:12 我知道耶和華必爲困苦人伸冤，必爲窮乏人辨屈。
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
詩140:13 義人必要稱贊妳的名，正直人必住在妳面前。
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
