Hi Ching, I am option 3 user.  Actually at first I want to move completely with CAS but after comparison, I finally keep my CD player as an transport and playing duet source.

小弟用緊mac mini + weiss dac 2,有以下想法，可否比啲意見呢。

1）換部有USB in嘅SA/CD player,例如Eso s ...

腦場好多i3 notebook 大減價，3,4千有交易，

AMD APU notbook 都未見，單春玩CAS 都正。

Sorry buddy I didn't make such comparison as this is meaningless as the dac part is different so the sound output will be different too.  So what you need to ask is, do you love the sound output from Weiss?  If yes, then you should pick a good CD transport as you can then enjoy trandition CD and also HD sound track thru MAC or PC.  If no then you should go get a pure CD/SACD player without playing with HD sound track.  If then answer is no but you do love to play with HD sound track, then you should go seeking another DAC with ability to hook with PC or MAC.

For my case, I am using my T1i sig previously.  And one day I want to try CAS so I go get the DAC202.  Then I bought a MAC mini and play 24/96 tracks which directly purchase via HD Track with Amarra.  I do rip CD to AIFF file and make comparison with CD direct play between CD part from MAC internal CD vs ripped file.  From my ear I love the ripped file than the CD.  So an idea comes up and I plan to let go my CD player.  For play it safe, I want to give a direct compare between CD transport vs sound file so I hook the T1i sig to 202 thru AES and both my wife and I think T1i with 202 is the best.  Also I really enjoy putting the CD in the tray and watch the counter jumping.  So I finally make up my mind to keep both.

我依家用緊普通notebook+esoteric 8n usb cable 入K03，player用foobar+ipad remote, 但隻死人esoteric usb driver食resource到死，play隻歌會用到50至100% cpu，人都顛！

依家計劃買隻2tNAS同起多個network用lan線入notebook看下會唔會好d！問題天天都多！

3）用返部Dac 2,另加部CDT.....

DAC2又大幅輸比Minerva

其實可以諗下有USB輸入既CDP
Cary都比Minerva有音樂感而分析又高
琴晚試用HifaceEVO入我部DP510播HD都唔差

有興趣可就部mac mini + weiss dac 2過黎試下

    正確係 Mac Book >> Mac airplay  >> Transporter 比聽過的任何一套CAS都立体及可做到深度

Hi MDLP師兄，其實我之前都係用PC+Win 7+foobar分別用sound card經s/pdif及1394 card經1394 cable去Dac 2,可能set得唔好，反而唔夠用Mac mini+amarra去Dac 2理想。

現煩緊加部CDT好，定換走部Dac 2入部cd player好，但有usb in嘅cdp選擇好少，入部無usb嘅cd player加Hiface又點睇呢？
