Actually,
i really think it can win CD in theory.
the best data from a CD reader is 16/44.1 with no jitter error.
And it is a PCM digital files anyway.
If one can give exactly the same data or even higher data to DAC, i cannot understand why cannot win.
Only thing is computer noise and the sound tuning. I think this can resolve very soon.
CD has been developed for more than 30 years. it involved a lot of sound tunning and coloration to suit our taste. So DAC is tuning to received a colored transport to give chemical reaction to the listener. this is why we always need to match transport with DAC.
However, colored DAC received a perfect and non tuning sound from computer , the sound become harsh and non human, because the DAC is not customize for computer data.
And i believe CH really perform better in CAS. No matter what source come in, it will convert into PCM and upsampling into 768Khz. and make it own sound. so the higher sampling data will get the higher resolution.
