Why?
Setup a NAS is difficult? Why you think so?
NAS just a disk(s) to store data, and to share.

I think the most difficult part is how can you connect to the repository that is shared by NAS, that's the tricky part.

I am not a technical strong person as well.

But spent two night browsing internet to figure it out how to make mini server to work with lumin.

K500a ching, I just bought a synology DS213j. Intended to buy the DS214 but the sales swore to me 213j is more than enough for audio use, thus I took his advice with gratitude.

On the topic of NAS using LPS, the experience was different LPS quality also made a difference.  While using LPS is most often already better than SMPS, a better LPS will give a even better sound performance.

btw, Florian Cossy is such a nice gentlemen, much pleasure to deal with. He answers my dozens of questions within a few hours by email as long as he's awake.

Congratulation.
The FLAC sounds not as good as AIFF/WAV. Perhaps you can try some AIFF/WAV for serious listening.

The C1 can be operating in either  Controller mode or Converter mode. You can change it at the C1's setting menu.
If you have preamp , you can choose the Converter mode and avoid to set the volume every time.

In DSD file play back, there is a DSD FILTER TYPE - 'None'. If you don't have any component that woks in the ultra high frequency, you can try this filter too.

Hi Kahw C Hing,

Yes, I have connected the C1 to a NAS server for quite sometime now.  But at this moment, I am not convinced with the result compared to my usual Mark 31.5 CD transport.  I will try optimizing the setting and let you know how it goes
