Solskjaer set for Molde returnEx-United striker to take over as coach at old club
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to leave Manchester United to take over at his former club Molde as coach.
Solskjaer left Norwegian side Molde to join United in 1996 and he went on to score 126 goals in 366 appearances for the Premier League giants.
The former striker won 15 major honours during his playing days at Old Trafford and scored the dramatic winner in the 1999 UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
He played his last game for the Red Devils as a substitute against Chelsea in the 2007 FA Cup final before becoming the club's reserve-team coach 12 months later.
However, he now appears set to become a manager in his own right amid reports he is to be appointed Molde's new boss.
Solskjaer is thought to have spurned Molde's advances in the past, but with the club labouring in 11th in the Tippeliga after finishing runners-up last year, they have again turned to their former player.
A press release from the club confirmed a conference will be held at 2pm local time (1pm GMT) "for the presentation of a new coach".
