CH Precision C1 dac - 一個不容忽視的超級旗艦級解碼！

C1 as DAC (+Pre) ....it is appealing. Did anyone ever compare C1 with the favourite of 大草, Trinity DAC？

And more importantly, what should one use for playing digital, including CAS, to pair with C1? IMHO, ability to play SACD is not so important.

Actually, what i learn from Forthwise and C1 spec and review, it can match almost any transport if SACD is not your concern here. Cause the scary thing about this DAC is the up sampling skill. any signal, including DSD will first convert to PCM file up sampling to 384KHz. Any yet still sound very analog. A so so record will sound good too, as i learned from forth wise. and they demo once for me.
Of course D1 will be the best match because it will using the best CD Eso drive, which alone cost 80K, and allow SACD, using the lan cable.

Your system must be great no matter is analogue or digital！Anyway， I wonder why you choose CH， out of other choices at similar price range such as MSB and dCS?

LP vs Digital 永遠都不是個公平賽。
绝多數時間都是 LP 以小搏大地 KO digital。

我就係希望用LP12搏大霧，但發覺LP真唔易玩得好，冇時間打碟，又唔喺常常KO digital，真有啲想轉換投資組合，全心全意FAS\CAS，所以我一見KO LP 系統立即興奮起來

Is anyone C1 owner try this DAC as a preamp as well?
Cause i checked their website and review that it is also very good as a pre. Since CH precision doesn't have a Pre amp yet. all the demo is using it as a DAC+Pre. From their interview, due to the up sampling to a very high value, it can compensate the date loss using as a preamp.

C1 used to be my cheap out option in HIFI.
Why?
Cause i can have DAC+Pre in one. if think this way, then we will save a lot.
Cheap CAS and Transport, then up sampling to 384 out to amp directly.

Then i stopped.
Cause i love LP so much!
even they announced will have analog input later in C1, it will convert all our precious LP analog signal into PCM and up sampling. Even it sound like heaven, this concept stop me to use it as a Pre. How can i accept LP signal convert into PCM.........
if you listen only CD and CAS, it think worth trying.

but i heard they are working hard on a phono card for C1 as well.
Did you notice they use LP as a source in their HIFI show? always make me wonder how they connect it.
Must be digital signal if using c1 only.

It is a dilemma for LP lovers. But what if they do the job in flying color? I think the biggest problem is (to me) the price. But if you can afford, it seems a good choice. It makes Simcity Hing comes back to HiFi World!

Have a USB input or DoP coaxial input.
But it can take up to DSD 64, SACD standard only. PCM is 192KHz.
Cannot direct control over Nas.
if i consider to get one then Lumin is best match for it. hehe
Cause Lumin can go DSD 64 only and can digital output DoP, DSD files.

it is true!
Very expensive actually.
So i need to justify it as a one of the best DAC+Preamp+Phono all in one, and give the world class sound.
And Cheap out the transport and play only file.
To make it sound cheaper.

agreed having a world class pre-amp function onboard makes it a lot more attractive. The only problem with CH precision is, if you go for the C1, it's very likely you'll end up with all CH system e.g. D1+C1+A1 which is a pretty expensive front end. I have no doubt it will sound superb, but on the flip side I'm also impressed by how good the ARC amps sound, they provide world class performance with a fraction of the cost of CH gears.

Should be called the 'phono module'. It is good C1 can be fitted with phono module. But will that module cost more than a decent stand-alone phono amplifier?
