After 28 years of development and three years since release of version 5, it is time for HQPlayer version 6. One of the new main components is in-house UPnP 2.0 AV stack providing more flexibility for the functionality across wider range of hardware and OS platforms. There is also a new set of source content cleanup filters to deal with various issues in some of the content.

At the same time, HQPlayer 5 enters maintenance mode that lasts for two years.

Interface improvements in Client. Experimental CUDA support or Debian arm64. Various other features and improvements.

New in-house implementation of UPnP 2.0 AV software stack to remove Rygel dependency. Also libgmpris dependency removed. As result, HQPlayer Embedded is now available also for Windows and macOS. Also extended set of source content cleanup filters for different cases. Experimental CUDA support on Debian arm64 package. Various other features and improvements.
