There’s not much more we know about the film except that it’s filming in April 2013, and set for a Spring 2014 release date.

the drama about seven gunfighters drafted to protect a Mexican town, so might this be a variation featuring inept gunslingers? The studio would not go beyond confirming the title and the terrain.

I think Adam Sandler should try to get Clint Eastwood to join him in his western comedy 'Ridiculous 6'.

Adam Sandler is serving up a new dose of comedy of the western variety in The Ridiculous 6. According to Deadline, Sandler will co-write and star in the 2014 release...and he's producing it in-conjunction with his label Happy Madison Productions and Paramount Pictures.

Paramount won't share many details outside of the title and setting, but the name Ridiculous 6 immediately harkens back to The Magnificent Seven...a 1960 drama about seven mercenaries hired to protect an oppressed Mexican village. The original starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and James Coburn and we're guessing Sandler's take may involve tragically inept versions of the original film's gun slinging characters.

Sandler will write The Ridiculous six alongside his frequent collaborator Tim Herlihy. The two funnymen have teamed up on previous Sandler laughers like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Little Nicky and Mr. Deeds. Sandler recently voiced Dracula in Hotel Transylvania which has already grossed $188 million worldwide. Also on the comedic veteran's slate is Grown Ups 2, the follow up to 2010's buddy comedy Grown Ups.

The Ridiculous Six is primed for a spring break weekend release in 2014..and we're sure the wild, wild western terrain will provide plenty of opportunities for slapstick Sandler hilarity. Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison banner have produced numerous successful raunch-coms over the years, but even his most ardent supporters weren’t all that impressed with the actor’s last two movies (Jack and Jill and That’s My Boy) – judging by the drop-off in box office revenue.

If you thought that might’ve been enough to encourage Sandler to try something different, it appears as though you were correct (well, sorta). The funnyman’s next starring vehicle (after Grown-Ups 2, that is) is going to be a western comedy titled Ridiculous Six, a riff on The Magnificent Seven.
