Currently using an usb hdd docking to feed to logitech sbt via usb cable, running Android apps -Logitech Squeezebox Controller in an android phone to select songs.
If adding a synology nas, say 213j, connecting the nas and the sbt to a router/switch,and using the sbt usb out (EDO) to a ddc for onward connection to my Asus Essence One dac:-
(1) Is that installing and running the Logitech Media Server (lms) in the nas, use the same android apps or aother one in the phone to select songs? But how could the apps inside the phone distinguish the lms or Logitech Squeezebox Controller in the nas/sbt?
(2) Or would that be better to install the synology audio station and use the DS audio android apps in the phone to select songs?
I am actually a bit confused about the two options. Any comment and suggestion is highly appreciated(just want to explore my options if adding the nas). Thx.
If you already have the Sb touch, no point to use direct streaming from synology. The Sb touch + NAS is much better in term of sound quality and usability (squeezebox sever is still the best in term of functions).
I cannot catch your first question, but since the SB server is in the NAS and linked to same network, your apps in phone will search all devices and will located the server and SB touch.
