 Yours for 8 grand
LG's 55” LG “Curved” OLED TV, the 55EA980W is available from today in the UK, the company has let us know. This follows the 'semi-launch' of LG’s original screen 55” OLED showcased earlier in the year.
LG’s curved OLED was the first of its kind when previewed at the 2013 International CES in Las Vegas, albeit that Samsung followed up with their own an hour or so later.

The 55EA980W features LG’s unique ‘WRGB’ (White/Red/Green/Blue 4-colour pixel) technology. It's incredibly slim at just 4.5mm in depth and, of course, looks incredibly sexy.
“As pioneers of the World’s first and leading Large Screen OLED Technology, we are excited to launch and bring our unique and immersive, Curved Screen Design to consumers here in the UK this Autumn” said Andy Mackay, Commercial Director, CE, LG UK.
The LG 55EA980W's curved screen has what thy describe as a 'gentle inward flex' as well as LG's passive CINEMA 3D technology and, of course, a host of and Smart features.
According to LG, the curve means that the entire screen surface is equidistant from the viewer’s eyes, and we're keen to check out how that works in practise.
The model’s distinctive design has been recognised by the European Commission’s EU Ecolabel as well as winning Red Dot design and EISA awards.
The LG Curved OLED 55EA980W will officially launch this week and will be available for £7,999. |
