The history of EMT’s pick-ups started in the early 50-ties with an OEM relationship when the amazing Broadcast record players EMT 927 were introduced. 1959 EMT started its own pick-up production with specific focus in improved playability of long playing records with microgroove, smaller tracking weight, extended frequency response and reduced distortions. 1961 saw the manufacturing start of Stereophonic sound cartridges. The technology of these systems was significantly improved in 1965 with the launch of the famous EMT TSD 15, which is still available today.
