If I am not wrong, Lampizator trade in program for Pacific upgrade to Horizon end in July. I didn't trade in my Pacific, I am happy with it and I doubt Horizon's improvement worth €20,000.

It is the simple law of diminishing returns.  When it comes to high end hifi equipments you always have to pay a lot more to gain very little in performance.

However, one interesting observation I personally have made is that once you have upgraded to the best of the best, you will have no further desire to find an even better one because it is simply NOT available.  With this approach you will not lose as much money along the way of your upgrade journey.  The only catch is that at the highest level you may only want to try out other brands which offer different taste, like MSB, CH, Wadax, dCS, totaldac or Nagra.

Pacific is a great DAC. I don't see any reason to go for Horizon.
