I would suggest you use the following Analog source:
Technics 1200MK7+Ortofon MM cartridge (choose the model within your budget)+Gold Note PH-5 or PH-10 Phono Amp
The modern Ortofon MM cartridge is not as good as those vintage MM cartridge in the 80's made by Shure, Stanton, Empire, Technics, Sony, or even Ortofon vintage model, but as a newbie, you may not be able to get those vintage Mm cartridge in decent condition. That is why I suggest you to buy the Ortofon current model, or you may take a look for the Audio Technica MM series, but for Cantonese Pop, Ortofon should be a better Choice.
ALL Accuphase AD series phono card performance are just so-so, use an independent Phono have better performance and flexibility. I personally use the Gold Note PH10 Phono with PSU-10 power supply for MM cartridge or MC cartridge require Step-up transformer, I use the Trinity Reference Phono with my Van Den Hul MC cartridge in full balance connection. |
