    其實只需要一個nas(當然要有harddisk)加一部電腦or notebook or iphone做remote就可以...唔難set...

let me type in English as I don't know Chinese character input

what you need:

a NAS, with HDD inside of course - as source. The NAS should preferably support Twonkymedia
a Linn DS player.
a Router
some LAN cable
EITHER a PC, a MAC, an iPhone, iPAD or iPod touch as control

Connection:
the Router is the hub of the whole system. The NAS should connect with the router and the Linn DS to the router also ( WIRED connection)

only Linn Sneaky DS and Majik support digital out, which you can connect it to a DAC. Higher end models including Akurate DS and Klimax DS dones't come with digital out, which means you can't connect it to any DAC. Akurate and Klimax are fully balanced design.

    here is my source, a 4-bay NAS of which supports Twonkymedia. Any files stored in the NAS managed by Twonkymedia can be seen in the control panel of Linn DS player AUTOMATICALLY. It saves time and effort, especially for computer novice like me.{:5_99:}

This is the whole setup. Simple and neat

the NAS is connected to a cheap D-link router which I connect it to NOW, Magic TV, MacBook Pro, PS3  and 2 PCs
the DS player is connected to my cheap D-link router by a $10, yes $10, LAN cable.
I put a low end Ortofon 7N balanced interconnect to the Accuphase Pre-amp and then an Accuphase Power amp -> finally to a 803D

the remote for the Linn DS player is useless as you can control it by any computer, iPAD, iPhone
   

that's it. Nothing else.

    you can take your time in the local distributor of Linn, in Pedder Street, Central. You can test all the 4 DS players in the same setting. I presume the local distributor in Mongkok lacks knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm in selling DS product.

  3 points to highlight

1. the background is much more silent as there is no moving parts in the DS player. I've been using Esoteric in the past and tried many Esoteric player...and I'd say the DS player gives the same sense of silence when compared to esoteric P/D05 ( not to mention X03SE)
2. also its much more musical than the Eso. I like Eso in person, however the Akurate DS player gives you more dynamic yet musical sound when compared to Eso ( which is sort of Hifi and accurate sound)...
3. finally it supports 24/192 sources, which no CD player can do


finally, whether you like the so called "typical Linn sound" is personal.....yet the accurate, comfortable and the musical sound that this Akurate gives is the reason why I give up P05/D05, and I have no intention to OWN a new K01/03 (of course I wanna TRY)

好毒..但係CD RIP 去DS時...真係好得過唱CD...如果RIP歌時..又有無野要特別處理呢...

K-01/K03 有USB IN...佢應該可以加隻HHD當DS..

如果LINN DS有CDROM, 都唔錯呀?

如果淨係同一部機輸出就差好遠

Majki - RCA out, Akurate - XLR out

但係Majki配外置其他DAC的話,  分分鍾win Akurate同Klimax, 我個人認為用家本身冇DAC或cd player的話,  可考慮Akurate同Klimax,  而本身現在套system的話 (DAC), 可以用Majki哩玩或當係2nd System

即係如果我部CDP有digital-in 或者有獨立DAC, 可以用Majik做CAS source..跟住Digital 入CDP or DAC? 咁效果會唔會好過普通CAS?即係羅部電腦Digital入DAC?

right! majki digital 入 DAC 效果好遇一般CAS 困為少左機械部份影響既嘈音
同我覺得LINN DS 出里既背景好靜.  個音場好音体同好近似HiFi聲

    如果咁玩不如玩Naim個部Unitiserve...我聽過比電腦羸成條街....無謂浪費左Linn 解碼個part....
