我今日行HIFI鋪見到一部好的式合拼機,全金色,萬幾紋,打住MADE IN ITALY,有冇c hing 聽過此機,小弟新手一名,想買部膽機玩下,煩請各位 c hing比D意見

Heard it about 2 years ago. Affordable, good sound for entry and intermediate level listeners. Could drive moderate loading speakers such as Harbeth P3, 3/5a.... The Golden one is the anniversary version of their famous NIMIS. They also have higher powered int akp, Flame or even Seamus with ext PSU.

Some 3 weeks ago I listened to their 300B mono + Nagra CDC + Odeon horn speaker bookshelf, sounds open and musical but may be not as rich and passionate sounding compared with some Italian speakers.

Depends what you are looking for, if you want head banging bass, of course not enough, afterall 3/5a is not famous for bass weight. Synthesis used to have an integrated amp Ensemble with 8*EL84 but seems like removed from the web page.

Quality EL84 are expensive! If 8 pcs totally, sadly it should cost more than half of the price of the amp itself

You are quite right, nowadays not much branded producer make EL84 amplifier. Before I listen to SET amp, I also like the sound of EL84. As far as I know Manley Lab, Tom Evans Audio's Linear B mono blocks use a total of 16*EL84



I actually like this J C Verdier discontinued Le Mono Bloc with 20*EL84 but many criticize that it is difficult to find matched pairs of EL84 and concern about different life span of the EL84. Heard that one user in Hong Kong using it to drive the Ensemble Prima Donna speaker with excellent result.

For Synthesis NIMIS, I think more suitable to drive the lower model Karis



or the entry level Micra



If driving my Adamantes III, I suspect the Flame



or Seamus SE



or Shine will be more suitable

In terms of sensitivity, Karis was even harder to drive well than the Adamantes III. I have email to Diapason some time before. They recommend Adamanted III if fitted with low power amp.

, I also visited the shop when you were there while the shopkeeper was setting the NIMIS LE and connecting the Cary CDP. I prefer connecting with the Odeon bookshelf speaker.

Almost forgotten this EL84 int amp Armonia from Nightingale in Italy. Looks very classy with 2*20W output. Do not aware that it used to be available in HK despite the company says they used to have HK dealer. Nightingale is manufactured by Simetel SpA, an Italian company operating in the telecommunications field since 1959. Seeling price in the US is US$4,380.

Leben CS300XS is also a very good EL84 amp. Using Sylvannia EL84s for power and  1950's Mullard 12AX7s as rectifier - quite unbelievable how good it sounds driving my Monitor Audio floorstanding RX8s, given that I originally bought it as a headphone amp only.
