Can Ching please advise for a tube integrated amp how many watts per channel would be good enough to handle a 2 way speaker with 87db & 6.5inches driver? As most of the tube amp seems have low watt. Thank you in advance!
Usually push pull tube amp could deliver higher power such as KT 88*4 could produce 50W*2, or 4*6L6 about 30W or 8*EL84 around 30W. This is only a rule of thumb, 87db may not always dificult to drive and SET like 6C33C*2 could also deliver a healthy 30W which could handle many speakers
Thanks for the good advice, Ching!
Because I'm using AV amp (100W per channel) and it just sounds not so good and leak a bit of power, so considering will tube amp do the job well.
Actually after I heard the tube amp from one of my friend and some other shop with demo and I really like the sound of tube. So now just thinking to get the tube amp with about 50w per channel as you said. can the tube amp handle better than the AV amp which I'm using? Thanks a lot!
