I think it should be the other way round. The manufacturer of the cable should take the ABX (blind test). If he is unable to tell the difference between his product and an ordinary cable with results better than those from flipping of a coin, then his claim about his ultra expensive product has no foundation.
For a third party to take the test, for example, a reviewer, no one can be sure if he hears a difference he says there is no difference.
