I heard that Ref DAC has a tube circuit similar to ARC40 preamp. The top plate is also similar to ARC40 preamp: an acrylic plate.

照咁睇, DAC8應該唔可以UPGRADE去新既DAC REF喎.

Quite Disappointing.
Ref DAC's tube analog part is from Ref5 SE : Good!
The DAC part is the same DAC8 with no significant improvement despite 2X in price : Bad!
