D兩日send咗email去台灣問,佢回覆話Kingrex PSU MKII 熱係正常的,而且已用 Magic TV 測試咗九個月都沒有問題,內容如下:
Ask:
I live in Hong Kong. I am using the Kingrex PSU MKII (13V, 4A) for my TV box - Magic TV 7000S mini. But, the surface of Kingrex PSU becomes very hot after my TV box is switched on for a while. Is it normal? The original transformer of my TV box is 12V, 4.16A. Thanks.
Reply from Kingrex:
Dear Mark Mak
Thanks for your question. This is Christine of KingRex Tech.
About the 4A/13V PSU MKII, the heat of the front panel is high for sure. Because KingRex use the front panel as heat sink, the temperature might reach 70oC if the power keep continously outputing over 80% power demand or 100%.
Why would PSU MKII 4A in such high temperature we still treat it as normal? It's the linear power characterstic.
All of our 13V PSU MKII are 13V /4A. However, the Linear Power is in floating output. It's better to adapt the amplifier products.
Due to the power demand of the amplifier product will float by the dynamic (While dynamic demand is strong, the instant DC demand will go up. While dynamic demand is weak, the instant DC demand will go down.) The power demand will go up & down - we call it floating.
Due to the working mode is quite different to linear power & switching power. The switching power normally can 100% output continously. However, the linear power only output 25% output continouly & 100% output in sudden demand. Magic TV needs continously output.
But the temperature is acceptable, it won't cause any damage or short for the PSU MKII itself.
Please just leave the PSU MKII in good air cycle area and do not place it in any place at thick cloth or warm area.
Ask:
Dear Christine,
Thanks for reply.
That means,
1. This is both OK for the Kingrex PSU and Magic TV, even my Magic TV is 12V, not 13V.
2. No hazard to the life of Kingrex if operating in high temperature for a long period.
Am I right?
Regards,
Mark
Reply from Kingrex:
Dear Mark
Yes, you are right.
We arleady test Magic TV for over 9months w/ new PSU MKII 4A. They are both all fine.
1. higher voltage in 13V is acceptable due to all electronic parts will all have their own tolerance. It will only help the Magic TV can have better performance.
The sound will be more powerful.
2. Yes, inside the PSU MKII there are two fuses inside. It will auto protect the backward machine and itself for broken the fuse by sudden high power output.
best regards,
Christine Wu
