Cartridge Upgrade Choice??

Hi all c hing,

Into the LP world for almost 2 month and feel itchy.  

Current system is:

1) Clearaudio concept
2) Mcintosh C50 + 275
3) Guarneri Memento speaker

Now on my mind includes:

1) Upgrade to MC Cartridge;(2k to 3k)
2) Add a LP Clamp
3) Beneficial to upgrade Phono ?  (Using the McIntosh C50)

Willip hing,

If just 3 - 4K upgrade cost, all 3 items are not recommended as the performance is not significant.  I rather suggest you to save more money and upgrade your system at later stage.

Just my 2 cents.

其實呢個價在香港可買到Audio-Technica AT33PTG/II,我自己都係用Clearaudio concept,換了這個唱頭後,啲人聲真係可以出得好甜,如你跟我一樣鍾意聽下八,九十年代的舊唱片和jazz,呢個價錢左右的唱頭,這是個很好的選擇.

C hing; you can consider buy a phono amp. Mclntosh built in phono is really not so..
