DSD Disc creation

From internet, your suggestions/comments are always welcome!

First you need a player for playback of DSD discs
- SONY SCD-XE800/SCD-XA5400ES SACD player, PlayStation3, etc.

Second, a DVD-ROM (writer) and blank DVD disc (DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD-RW)

Third, AudioGate software (free), https://www.korguser.net/audiogate/en/download.html
(see their own requirements for the software, Win7/Win8 32/64 bit are okay)

Lastly, files can be WAV format, which then converted to 1-bit 2.8MHz DSF file format using AudioGate software.  Create a folder named DSD_DISC.  Put all the *.DSF file inside the folder.  Create a text file with the extension .DDP (name can be anything, e.g.  mydisc.ddp) inside the folder.

In the DDP file, enter:

./Track1.dsf
./Track2.dsf
./Track3.dsf
... etc
(Note: Track1, Track2, etc. is the name of your DSF files)

Burn the DSD_DISC folder to a blank DVD disc.

Now you have your own SACD quality DSD custom disc!

ps.
- Maximum size of a file: up to 4GB
- Channel: 2-channel
- Maximum number of playable files: up to 150 files per folder
- Maximum number of playable folders: up to 200 folders per disc
- Maximum number of playable layers: up to 8th layer

Thank you for sharing the above very useful info. Btw, as per my personal experiences, the dsf files can be directly rip from an audio CD to DSD file! I could be more direct.

I also have a question about if these DSD discs could be played on any SACD PLAYERS & ps3?

the program AudioGate will convert WAV or other format, then EXPORT to DSF format etc.

from the interface, select EXPORT button, then it will show you a list of format you wanted and the destination folder to save

I think you may use a re-write disc, burn the DSF and its source file (16bit WAV), then you can compare the SQ between the two format

The 2 new OPPO players should be able to play the DSD disc too, so you can take the disc to the OPPO showroom in MK and try out the SQ

may not playable for all SACD player, but you can try using re-write disc, so nothing to lose

usually the manual/spec. of the SACD player will tell you if it can play DSF or not

and if you have DSF files, then there is no need to use the software, you can burn directly with the DSF files

Have you tried the DSD disc on PS3 yet? I have a feeling that PS3 may not be able to play it successfully. If it could, it would be great.

I think the newly released accuphase DP-550 should be able to play the DSD discs.

因為SACD RIP 出來如果用DST/DSD 既DFF , 播放機係播唔到，播到都有時有問題。
但係DSF 就完全完美地運作，但是網上多數見意人RIP DST, 所以出現DFF to DSF 依個問題

不過係網上賣到既DFF就無問題，因為佢係原生檔，要留意。

因為我部cubox唔support iso，所以全部要用SACDS extract爆出嚟，爆出嘅1TB +都係嘅dff無dsf

SACDS extract 可能只爆到DFF, 而且立即改正info,所以play到

不過無論DFF 好，定DSF 好，一樣係DSD Code

我用 scarletbook 爆 DSF
其實 SACD 本身係用TOC 封裝, 係SACD 世界根本唔存在 DFF/DSF
DSD 世界之中就有DFF /DSF 存在, 情況就好似WAV 同AIFF,
其實一個檔案 DFF 又好, DSF 又好, 裡面一定有個INFO 來記錄幾多分鐘呀, 歌名呀...等等 , DFF RIP 出來之後好怪, 好似只係得音樂DATA係裡面, INFO 會出現亂情況,  同一隻碟都可以每隻歌都唔同都得 ( 1,3,4,5,7 PLAY到 2,6,8,9,10 PLAY 唔到, 但第二部機PLAY到 2,6,8,9,10 但又PLAY 唔到 1,3,4,5,7)
所以你個軟件可能幫你整返齊佢...等佢播到

但係DSF 封包本身可能寫得好既關係, 99%都完美播放, 我試左3部讀到DSF 機都無問題 !!! 所以日後儲既方案都用佢係主

等我又用下scarlebook爆下dsf玩下先
因為有啲iso我用sacd extract爆唔到，話唔係scarlebook
暫時用sacd extract 爆都99%可以play到。

DSF 5.1CH 都掂呀
記得新版本先有DSF 的
OLD VER 都係DSD 同DST ( DST 係壓縮的DFF , 不好用)
