Audio research Ls 27 vs ref 5 and ref 5 se

I'm considering the ARC  PRE AMP and the ref 150 power amp. As I need to 食樹皮，can c hing please advice how much different between the pre amp of LS 27, ref 5 and ref 5 se?

I used LS27 with VS115 before. They are more like the old ARC sound. Although they sound more 'tube' than Ref 5, they are not in the same grade as the Reference series in term of high and low extesion, speed, analytical ability, etc.  However, don't let me mislead you, the LS27 and VS115 are very good indeed.

I've tried LS17 and Ref 5 SE today with both Ref 75 and Ref 150.
The Ref 5 SE even in Ref 75 KO LS 17 in both extension and punch.
yet the money is so much more.....

Think this way, the Ref 5 can satisfy you for 5 yrs.
