problem of short break sound in CAS

My setup as:
PC＞usb＞DDC box＞optical cable＞CD player with optical in＞amp....
One problem happens, sometimes (arround 2-3 songs will happen once) little short break will happen (arround 0.1 second). Any brother know what is the cause? My USB cable is very cheap and quite long (arround 1.5m) is it caused by this cheap USB cable? Or it is caused by USB to optical conversion, and if I use an USB DAC instead of USB to optical to DAC can help?

Any brothers can help?

Problem isolation start from the source first

1. any problem playing music on the PC?
2. Problem with the USB cable and optical cable is unlikely, though having a spare one around to test it out is an easy first step.
3. My rough guess is the problem with the DDC box, but how to test it out?
4. Cd player itself has absolutely no problem when playing Cd?

A simplified approach without spending money is to borrow a dac with usb input from a friend.

seems problem solved, I think it may be due to the low hardware performance of my notebook. I play AAC file ripped in the past, file size much smaller than lossless, it is ok and smooth. Although in many Ching points of view, AAC file is bad sound compared to Lossless, AIFF or WAV, I'm satisfy with it.  I think I play CAS with AAC file and Marantz SA15S2 as DAC is similar or even better than BDP9600 play CD.

Win7, itune only.
Ching, my expectation low ma!  if you see my equipment below, you will know why I accept these sound quality:

CDP: Marantz SA15S2 (previously Philips BDP9600 as CD player)
amp: Onix RA120
speaker: Focal 806V

I think you know why I can accept so easy but you 用win8 + jplay 5.0 去馬仔sa11s3, jplay 都要做d調較先掂.

窒聲情況仍間唔中出現，總括經驗，以下情況出現窒聲機會較高：
1 剛開電腦不久就播歌。
2 大file size 既歌例如lossless
3 開或關iPad remote apps 既時候
4 部電腦有其他野run 緊既時候

所以睇落似係部電腦processing 既能力問題，有冇師兄有意見？
