it is NOS - more open, natural and detailed sound
it is DIY - fun, cheap
usb input is using I2S for the DAC - best connection at the moment
take away the two cap, and you can convert the output to - balanced
24/192 - usually old NOS DAC is only for 16 bit

but since it is DIY, you can always improve it, for example, changing the output cap to better grade, using better power supply, better internal cables, etc.

the usb is powered by the usb cable, so it can improve by using a better power supply

Not by me, I am not that good enough

The project is by a German (his English is very good, some Germans won't speak English at all).

Go to his web page, it will tell you this project from the beginning to end, very details, very interesting to see, even includes how to install Windows drivers/testing graph results/home listening/etc...just click the link at the end of each page to continue.

The installation steps are from another web page owner who bought the DIY kit, it is by a Dutch, so you may need a translator to view.

I saw many DAC DIY project before, but this one is very professional, from the clear markings on the PCB, it just give you confident that it will sound good (maybe the PCB is made in Germany?), and that is why I share it here.

I think you can buy it on-line and ship to HK too and have fun with it.
