Accuphase DP550 vs Esoteric K05 ??

A friend asked for opinion on >HK50k grade  SACDp, I think these two fit the bill.

I am not familiar with these expensive stuff so ask here and seek advice from high hands here

I understand  that generally Eso sounds more rational and Accuphase sounds more musical.....

I wonder if there is any c-hing actually compared the two?  I found very little review in HK forums, especially the DP550.

BTW, I believe they cost less than 50k in the market, right?

PS: My friend is a classical guy, sometimes jazz.

I said the same, but he is a bit of attracted by the DSD processing capability of K05.....

Why don't he go audit them? Frankly, if he concern for for best DSD processing capability, he should go for EMM Labs, Playback Design, or CH.

Yep, all of them not even over 50k but over 100k range.........

Before I upgrade my SACD player to dCS a few months ago, I was considering the Esoteric, Marantz and Accuphase as well......... frankly, my dCS is the old model with inferior specification and built like a tank case......but it just sound musical and involving, I just cannot get the enjoyment from those highend SACD player from Japan.......

All I can say listening is believing.........

i read about k05 in stereosound.  the guy who use tannoy kingdom royal said esoteric k05 with g02 combo is very accurate in classical playback.  this i consider quite a compliment.

It would be interesting  to personally experience the difference between Japan brands such as Accuphase , Esoteric  versus  their counterparts from US /Europe

IMHO, the Japan brands could have more reliable mechanical parts (i.e. the CD transport components), and the foreign brands do carry  nice quality DAC.

I have auditioned the previous generation of Emmlabs player  (I thought the model is CDSA) - the performance is musical and dynamic , honest, and well suited to classics. The 2nd hand price should be in range or under 50K. Yet the concern again is to make sure the mechanical parts functioning well.

haha hing,  I thought I was an euro/us equipment believer, only buy hifi from that side of the world.  but wait, almost all of the phono cart I used to own are japan cartridges.    And I love their sound.

I think Japanese can make very good hifi equipments.  Just wondering if DP550 or K05 are one of those good stuff.

I am sure emm is a great player, I wonder any c-hing actually AB compare it with Accuphase or eso players?
