Other than pair with the H621 to get high-res audio from HDMI, how else can it decode DTS-MA and Dolby TruHD etc...?

Why couldn't they integrate at least some HDMI into their processor like Cary?

至於吾解hd,我做個唔少功課，相信好大原因係吾想比錢同認為無咁嘅需要，可以search番早在十年前meridian smart link 己完全掌握高清技術亦有份參與研發，用三條同軸線進行獨立dac 解碼解決頻寬問題，另一方面係將數碼訊號係完全不流失的情况下傳輸到佢自冢喇叭做d\a,所謂解碼即拆解，就如我地電腦winzip 檔一樣，只不過需要鎖匙開門意思一樣，其實重點不在於折解，而係後由pcm 轉換至analog信號亦即d to a過程造成差異。所以幾家大廠都選擇先以買左版權的player先折解從而降低成本，令愛仲有原因就係晝同聲在同一條線輸送下會受到干擾劣化，所以先以621將其分開，再重新reclock, buffer同upsampling先分閞送出獨立48 bit proccesor

Can the Vanity93 be used on Cambridge player like 751 and 752 or new Oppo 103D etc ...?

The setup of Meridian processor is very cumbersome. As I own the old 568.2 and the Meridian DSP 5000 speakers for front and centre, I had a look at the G65. I was disappointed to learn that I needed to pay another 15K just to use my old Meridian speakers with the G65! Back to G65, the option to set up is limited unless and until you use its propriety software via RS232 input with your computer.

用電腦設定第一次或者比較麻煩但之後每次改完load上去就方便了，最近好多牌子都傾向用電腦set,至於setting的確比一般前级多好多野搞，要佢狠又得要柔亦可，基上上呢部機係專業型，吾用電腦根本玩吾盡，所以绝對吾user friendly,吾係個個岩

至於upgrade，,我認為當年買568超抵玩、十年後今曰比兩萬仲有高清玩，meridian所比的算有良心，試問全世界相信只有theta同meridian可一直玩到2013年

借樓主post 一用，多多包涵！師兄是Meridian專家，小弟有事請教，小弟現用window 7 的 Lenovo Laptop，遇到困難濧應Meridian 568.2的RS232 和電腦。如不用電腦set不能選擇Cente -digital speakers, front - analog speakers, rear -digital speakers，一定要強制前及中置為digital speakers。

i think your problem was the rs232 cable , i tried few of them doesn't work . only one of them can works.

mainly was the linear power supply n cut all the video part n analog input, i guess the linear power supply can make huge differences as some meridian fans already do so , they said it may challenge 861

If I remember correctly,around HK$400 if buy from a HK computer company, more expensive if buy from Excel or new agent of Anthem? (this adapter is recommended for Anthem pre and receiver set-up, for computer/notebook without a serial port). Amazon usa is also selling it at a lower price, but not shipping to HK. HK SSP or MK computer shops sould have similar products but Excel once said they tried a few of those without success..

p.s. - The above adapter comes with the Anthem pre/receiver, but not sure if it is included with Meridian products.

小弟目前用的usb>RS232，对應不到，器材現在在深圳褔田，加上Meridian又冷門，較難請師兄幫手。如果師兄有空，欢迎來舍下多多指教。

BigMouthBoy ching,

G68 has various versions.  The cheaper versions assume you'll use digital speakers from Meridian, therefore they don't need much preamp function because everything is processed in the digital domain.  This may be how they saved some money for the full digital version.   Only the G68XXV version has full balanced out and you may use ordinary power amp or even active speakers.

G65 is obviously more user-friendly to non-meridian speakers.
