If you have no BD player before, PS3 is a big upgrade due to Full HD playback for Blu-ray.  The DVD upsampling is also very good even compared to native BD player.

It is a mediocre BD player in image quality if you compared to those with Qdeo or Darbee.

Considering about the player response, it's still among the best if you use it together with the dedicated PS3 BD remote.  The fast forward and backward are smooth and very responsive.  The subtitle can still appear when you FF

About 3D, just consider it as not 3D compatible as it's lacking either this or that and complete 3D solution is never going to happen (probably due to HDMI limitation).

In short, if you are not looking for a game console, there is not much point to buy PS3 as a Blu-ray player now.

用個手制去控制睇碟極之難用 除非買個專用搖控

因為搖控唔係行紅外線，所以一般萬能搖控係唔得 （就算係Logitech都只係某啲型號仲要加錢加module)

如果係主力打機睇碟次要尚可，主力睇戲就咪搞
