My experience was not exactly the same as what is being discussed here, but maybe useful for the discussion.
I have an Atlantis Minimus and a Silver Minimus; and in the Entreq website, it's said an Atlantis shall be placed on the top of the existing Tellus/Minimus. I did exactly the same.
My findings. You can't really put the Atlantis on the top of the existing Minimus WITHOUT another set of vibration control device between the Atlantis and Minimus. You could hear the increase in density in the music produced by your system after adding Atlantis and placing it on the Minimus, there would also be an annoying muddiness in the music. This can be vastly reduced, as I tested, by simply elevating the Atlantis even by some cheap wood blocks or spike-and-sheet sets. Obviously you can test what material or device to use for vibration control to give the sound character you like most but the takeaway is, it's not the preferred approach putting the Atlantis in direct contact with the Minimus. |
