where is the problem?

Hi all ching,

i am using  Krell MD2 CDT -> Inakustik digitalkabel on/off - 202 -> McIntosh 6700 -> XLO ultra 6 SC -> Focal 1008be speakers for 5 months, high / mid sound is ok.  But it seems not much low / bass!  I have been moving the speaker towards or away from the back wall, it is still not much difference.  

what should i do? where is the problem? is it just caused by the small speaker? can i get significant improvement from changing the SC or IC? or it is the old CDT issue or the build-in DAC in McIntosh is not good enough?

You may consider changing to bigger speakers. 1008be has only one 6" unit for both mid and low freq, so you cannot expect too much bass in your room. Afterall, choosing the right speakers should be the first step in setting up a hifi system bcos they are heavy and may not be easy to be upgraded too often. Suggest you get speaker with at least 2 units of 6+ inches diameter for lo freq.

Alternatively, you may try more powerful power cable such as NBS for your amp first. Just my 2cents!
