小弟, 想加隻switch在我個CAS system, 是隨便買一隻5-10port, 或要留意什麼?
想問多一個問題, 如果隻NAS係dual LAN, 這樣是否可以, 一個port去router, 一個port去pioneer n50 player. 如果係咁就直接啲, 及不需要用switch啦

我會建議用外置火牛嘅switch，易於更換power supply。

功能上其實不同牌子無太多分別。我自己用enterprise/business level嘅器材，比較穩定。

nas嘅dual lan目的係加快信息傳送，唔係用嚟同時連接兩個clients。就算可以，你的wired lan network本身就係一個circuit，你嘅諗法係唔可以減少噪音傳送到你嘅播放器。

C hing, thx. A lot for your info. 咁即係普通一隻switch就ok? 有冇需夾番同牌子, 即同現有隻router?

I have tried using different routers the showroom and they are pretty noisy even after I changed to linear power supply.

Finally I found a portable router with one ethernet cable for one device physically connected.  Perfect for a small audio network with a music server and mobile device to control it.  I powered it with 5V linear power supply and it is inexpensive as the portable router takes much less power than standard router.  I only connect it to the internet when I need to do so.

One bonus, it let user define the WiFi signal strength.  I set it up as 30% of WiFi signal strength to keep interference as low as possible.

Highly recommend to try set up a separate network for your music server

Very happy with the result.

This is what I'm using.  Small is beautiful.  No unnecessary components or circuits, low power to keep the interference lowest.

C hing, U means that use one portable wirless router with the NAS and the Music player?
And isolated with the existing home lan!

Yes, I have separate network with very low power portable hub.  I do not use nas and have local hard disk on in my music server .  

So far so good .

Currently i have a switch , do you mean that i use a low power switch hub behind the current hub and then this low power hub connect to NAS, while the the other two port , one connect to my mac min and the other connect to my current switch for other network access. Am i correct ?

The noise of router transmitted through the network cable is pretty high for a high quality CAS.  

But if you are using NAS with switching power supply, you probably won't benefit from using a lower noise router.

Of course, I am using if iusb power to filter the noise of the switch power supply, current setup is linear powe supply for Mac mini, lan7 cable over the music network. Just thinking whether add linear powe supply to NAS and switch or simply isolate the network with the music network with lower power switch, which one is good?

Sorry mislead all c hing，what i say is add linear power supply to NAS and switch or add a low power noise switch behind the current switch to form small music network

請問, Cicso 同 TP-Link 有乜分別? 如果都係 network switch.
