any ching knows about any device (hardware) to fix the music input at 24/96, no matter downsampling or upsampling to 24/96??

I think if you use iTunes on Windows for the output, it will be fixed sampling rate as it cannot do bit perfect output.

However, whether that sounds good is another story.

Agree with ccscho hing!

Like ccscho hing said, if you just want the player to up/down-sample to the max sampling rate of your DAC, you can simply use iTunes as it is what iTunes does to make every song 'playable' without considering sound quality.

i mean converting all files (44.1, 88.2, 176.4, etc) to 96.
which is NOT available on Lumin itself.
And i wonder if there is a device I can add, so that I can do it.

And I would  ...

Can you be more specific on what do you want to play?  (CD, SACD, PCM or DSF)

and what do you want to achieve?  (e.g. compare two DAC with same sampling rate)

I don't have a Lumin, but according to my knowledge, Lumin can be an all-in-one streaming player but it cannot be used as a DAC, therefore you cannot provide other PCM signals for it to decode.  The output after certain firmware can provide certain digital output however (seems no DSD).

If you want to play various disc and get PCM output, perhaps you can choose Blu-ray players like Oppo 103/105 or Cambridge 751/752 those and choose upsampling but choose output for LPCM instead of bitstream.  You may choose from options the highest PCM rate to output.  Note that DSD signal or high bit-rate LPCM may not be available on SPDIF but appears on HDMI only; then you can use a device called Atlona HD-570 (http://www.atlona.com/HD570.html)  to extract the high resolution LPCM from the HDMI output and feed the toslink optical out to your DAC.  This may be a weird method and has not been tested.  So don't hit head if it doesn't work.

Hope that's what you want to achieve.  Please report back on your findings however.

The Lumin XLR connection is a analog out, and there shouldn't be any up/down-sampling anymore as it has become analog signal...

Like ccscho hing said, please be more specific what you would like to achieve with more details so that other ching can help.

Afterall, re-sampling with a device is not a good idea IMO and 24/96 doesn't equal good sound...
