A few years back I had a similar question...
At the end I ran a test by using EAC on my own drives as well as some drives borrowed from my friends, including PATA & SATA and internal & external. Pioneer drives, both PATA & SATA were faster & stabler and other brands like Panasonic, Asus, Lite-On & Lacie etc. came close. The worst is LG as it always had read error & retry which takes significant longer, although the extracted files were the same as the others.
What I'm using now is a very old internal Pioneer A-11 caged in an external box connected via USB. Still has a "new old stock" as backup which bought before it's discontinued. |
