Dynaudio launch reference Evidence Platinum loudspeakers

Dynaudio first showed these speakers as a concept model at the 2012 Munich High End Show but they are now a high-end reality.
Priced at £58,500 they are certainly not for the uncommitted but they do feature an array of state-of-the-art proprietary Dynaudio technology and it’s taken the company almost seven years of continuous development to bring the Evidence Platinum concept to market.

As you would expect, they are finished to a high quality in the finest wood grains and incorporate a four centimetre thick mid-section milled from the highest-grade aluminium. Weighing in at 115kg each and measuring 194cm in height, the Evidence Platinum loudspeakers certainly look imposing.

To combat challenging rooms, the speakers use proprietary Dynaudio Directivity Control (DDC) technology.

DDC consists of a finely-tuned balance of symmetrically arranged, precisely positioned dual woofers, midrange drive units and tweeters, and an advanced crossover design. DDC is promised to reduce sound reflections from the floor and ceiling of any room by at least 75% through the exact matching of the phase responses of the individual drive units.

At the heart of the DDC technology is Dynaudio’s new, specially designed, highly complex crossover. DDC technology relies on creating the perfect balance of frequency responses from eight precisely tuned drive units. This task requires circuitry distributed over multiple levels, including Ceramic resistors, copper air coils and Solen capacitors. The circuit boards are reinforced with glass-fibre and copper traces and are connected to the drive units with select pure copper cables and pure copper, gold plated WBT NextGen terminals.
