If the source is already cropped to 16:9, there is already no point to use the anamorphic lens to change it to 2.35:1
The anamorphic lens is meant to use every pixel of the projector through internal processing then convert back to normal aspect ratio via the anamorphic lens again.
i.e. 2.35:1 source -- projector internal convert to -> 16:9 sensor - anamorphic lens convert -> 2.35:1
I think that was more effective when it was 4:3 to convert to 16:9 in the old age.
For 4K projector nowadays, I doubt if it's still that useful. May be I'm wrong, current users please share your experience. |
