Anyone who has compare MAN301DAC with flagships MEDEA+/MEDUS notice the advantages on Weiss discrete OP1-BP. We have modified this modular single ended OP-Amp design and transformed to a new balanced discrete output stages for Golden MAN. This Golden DAC module will be few levels ahead of original MAN301DAC. Anyone heard MEDEA+/MEDUS understands what this means.

MAN301Server and MAN301DAC units can be easily upgraded with the Golden DAC module. We think the upgrade prices are far better value than any external DAC in far far more expansive range.

it does sound like the major change is in the weiss designed opamp that was first used in medus.  looking forward to hearing it when arrive hk but shall say i very likely will upgrade when the module available as the 301 is really easy to use.

yes, there is no storage within the 301, you can choose to use NAS or direct attach hdd.  The original DAC is said to be the same level of 202.

From the dealer, there will be a total of 3 editions of 301 DAC:
- Golden
- Normal colour with new DAC Board (newly designed Op Amp)
- Normal version

I already ordered the upgrade board and is eagerly waiting for it.

weiss 就是好在 offer upgrade 比老客戶。 唔會新機一出舊機唔知點好。不過比我真是唔會選台特別版。 個會色好難睇。

但有一是，金色，其實已不是土豪 only 了，已慢慢成世界性潮流。黃金色 等於 土豪... 已經小小 out... 就是，自己唔喜歡咁金囉。

Thanks to King, I believe mine was the 1st one in HK to get updated yesterday.  Too bad, I myself am now travelling and haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.
