Selah Audio Tempesta 開箱

We ordered a pair of Selah Audio Tempesta speakers (3-way speakers) replacing ATC SCM19 in the showroom.  Need better speakers for the showroom.  Buying speakers without listening to it is risky.  I did research on the web before committing.  It is exciting to "open box".

They arrived today.

Run in for 8 hours now.  So far very positive with it.

Please note that I have upgraded the tweeter to Raal amorphous+core.  I have also asked for better capacitors used in the cross-over, and bi-wire.   

I think it probably will take at least 24x7 one week to go through the first stage of run-in.  Especially I'm only running it with low volume level.

The Raal tweeter is very good indeed.  No harshness at all even though it is not run-in yet.

Yes ah, not easy to drive, I'm using W4S ST-1000 Mk II to drive, so far so good.

What you like is custom veneers.  I saved the money for the amorphous core version of tweeter, cap upgrade and bi-wire.

Run-in 24x7 for one week in small volume.   It is more natural and excellent resolution.  The bass is impressive for a book shelf speaker.   Performed extremely with vocal as well as complex classical music.   

The 2 foams sticked on to tweeter by magnet are good.  I personally like to put it on with a more natural treble.

Run-in 24x7 for 2 weeks.  Now using bi-amp to drive Selah Tempesta.   I'm very satisfied with these speakers.  Beyond my expectation.
