Esoteric NEW K-01X and K-03X sacd players

ESOTERIC will launch the new K-01X and K-03X SACD players in July!
- Both player uses the Grandioso technology and VRDS-NEO VMK-3.5-20S mechanism.
- Eight AK4495S DAC chip per channel, 35 bit D/A processing, dedicated clock, HCLD buffer.
- The USB input is DSD-capable.

Both K-01 & K-03 were launched in Sept 2010.  

I don't think having a new X version in July 2014 is too frequent wor.

When initially launched in Sept 2010, the list prices of K-01 and K-03 were ¥ 1,400,000 and ¥ 800,000 respectively.

Four years later in July 2014, the list prices of K-01X and K-03X will be ¥ 1,450,000 and ¥ 900,000 respectively.
I think the increase is quite small and reasonable.
The most important things are whether the new version gives better sonics and whether they are of your taste.

I just know the new Grandioso sound totally different from the other models, with smoothy musical elements that can’t be found in other esoteric models. They claim the new Grandioso is a new breakthrough over the past. And also a new Grandioso preamp is coming too.
We always complaint for the hard and mechanical sounding from their Dac in the past, just putting our eyes on their transport only.But the new D1 was absolutely another story....

That's very interesting, hopefully this will be trickled down to the more 'junior' models like the 05 and 07.

I think this will be a trend coming, since finding a non-DSD DAC nowadays is getting harder and harder, having a competent DSD USB in onboard will be a great thing for people who have enough SACD to justify this, and also able to play DSD files without getting an extra DSD DAC, although we can of course argue to death whether the DSD USB input section is 'good' enough for some.

If the Hong Kong dealer takes the exchange rate into consideration， new version could even be cheaper than previous version.
