which kind of connection is better

currently using an old intel core 2 duo pc to playback dsd files with jriver, the mb is gigabyte ep45ds3.
I bought a nec usb3.0 pci-e card last week and installed in the pc.
In theory, which kind of connection is better?
a. usb out from onboard usb port
b. usb out from the nec pci-e card

I guess its b, but can't hear much difference with a, please advise

just using the stock pc from ud501(with a hifi-tuning 13A fuse), plug on the wireworld 拖板
the usb card is power by the ps inside the pc, the ps is a coolermaster 500or600w i think

the usb card  is power by the 4-pin IDE connector from the coolermaster ps, dirty power

Then you should make a linear Psu (12v) and add a pico atx dc adapter to replace this cooler master.
The next step is to add Sotm USB card or Nec USB card or adnaco fiber USB card (like me)
The sound already day and night after replacing a linear Psu, the USB card further improve it, I tried my card and the Sotm USB comparing with the on board usb3 (Nec), three cases are all powered by a 12v Lps+pico atx dc, the Sotm and adnaco fiber card both sounds better than on board USB.

I thought the ifi brothers are doing a good job
do they actually kill any noise from the pc?
