CAS小貼士系列之三：Ben Sir 的 USB cards with Femto-clock Mod 小評

小弟和幾位毒友玩咗CAS差不多４年，發覺原來很煩，因極多小節要留意和處理，才能有好效果。

台灣的CAS發展比香港的起步早，高手很多。
其中 Paul Pang 由 DIY個體户，發展到現在為 JPlay 設計 JCAT cables，十分成功！
他的新主意新「計仔」甚多，把 USB card 來摩改這奇招，他應該是世界第一人！

小弟和眾毒友和Ben都是 Paul Pang usb card 的用家，已購入使用了超過半年。

不過Ben Sir 今年發展出 femto-clock mod 給 LKS 使用，效果超然！所以大家brain-storming ：何不把這優良的 femto-clock+psu module 試試 植入 usb card 呢？

這是 modded and unmodded usb cards 在比較中：


Ben Sir 的 femto-clocked USB card 最大的優點是會令音樂感大增，數碼味大減！
而且和 一般的dac加鐘一樣，原本PC+dac 的音色特性是改變不大。
和Paul Pang 的 modded usb card 比較，PaulPang card 會清秀一點而 BenSir card 則是 more musical。

這些 modded USB cards 的 售價其實唔高。
小弟認為它們是每一位使用 PC 的 CAS發燒友 的必需的 accessory/tweak！

一早就應該把USB接口加clock，不過倒是第一次聽到真的有人這樣做，GOOD！

Yes ，小弟和一班毒友和Ben Sir 曾經研究及實試 motherboard 加 femto-clock，但卻失敗收場！  

Paul Pang 這高手是有些秘技留給自用的。
看來如果要更進一步用上 clock-modded motherboards，就只好購買 Paul Pang 的成品嘞。

very interesting
it would be nice to know how it compare to JCAT USB Card, which also use high precision ultra low phase noise oscillator.

其實我在努力中!  應該會在 Z97 Motherboard 上用 TCVCXO clock ,  like Trinity DAC.    可能只可以用在 M-ATX board, Mini ITX 有時真係太密....

想知道比較時用 Paul Pang 的 modded usb card .......係v1版....定係v2版?  謝謝

v1 & v2 都試過，取向大約相近。

其實Paul的 v1版上的 NEC chipset較舊，正是小弟自已選購了一塊較新的PCIe usb3.0 card 寄去給Paul摩改。
後來Paul所出的 v2版 就是用了小弟所提議的card.
