Bobby Troup, the American actor, jazz pianist, singer and songwriter was best known for composing standards such as ROUTE 66, DADDY, and for his role as Dr Joe Early in the 1970s TV series EMERGENCY in which he co-starred with his wife, actress singer Julie London. He recorded for Liberty Records in the 1950s, many with noted musicians from the West Coast jazz scene, and of the 2 LPs featured on this CD twofer, DO-RE-MI has Troup singing his own compositions DADDY, ROUTE 66, BABY, BABY ALL THE TIME etc. The second LP,  HERE'S TO MY LADY has Troup singing standards such as THAT'S ALL, THE NEARNESS OF YOU, and JULIE IS HER NAME, a song he wrote for Julie London. Both LPs are digitally re-mastered and making their CD debut here.

The multi-talented and versatile Don Costa was music arranger to Frank Sinatra, composed for Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, A&R director of ABC Records (for Paul Anka) and United Artists Records, whilst at the same time leading his own orchestra and making records. “Theme from The Unforgiven” was a Top 30 hit for Costa and the LP makes it CD debut here along with the 1962 released HOLLYWOOD PREMIERE!, another LP of Costa music from the movies.
The lush orchestral music has been re-mastered and has never sounded better.
