终于完成fanless Nas/streamer

Ching,
小弟用开S記Nas,但总觉得慢呑呑，連聲都慢呑呑，想郁佢好耐，扒文Q記有fanless Nas,但都係行arm CPU我醫生朋友用緊，同S記差不多只是fanless,扒文又冇現成的，只好自己整一個，刚好前2個月upgrade了fanless PC,变剩了一個行celeron fanless PC,扒文有個freeNas os,就試下佢，咁就我日已继夜，夜已继日裝了，终于开聲了，好感动，俾之前s記好太多，同埋爽好多， 一襟就有反應。
現用係我個cheap 系統好鬼正。

個celeron fanless PC 几舊水人仔真系冇投訴.

聽 stockfish 定位清晰了，音場寬了。

其實唔係咁难只係我唔熟的setup,走了寃枉路，睇了片后好eazy,同买現成q記同s記差唔多。

我呢部Nas只有一個msata,一個2.5吋位，我只用來聽歌所以只用一只2.5吋2T harddisk,msata boot OS,其他嘅功能用翻我只慢过只烏龜s記Nas.

其實你個 S 記點慢法？之前用了成年幾我部 S 傳 file 時都好慢，早兩星期我才知我 set 錯了，即刻快了 8 倍左右。

Last week, I compared WD Mycloud NAS connected to Netgear router with a 2.5" HDD connected to the same router with USB storage, the sound from HDD is better than WD Mycloud NAS, if you have a router with USB storage, must try.

Can your WD MyCloudNAS be connected to the router using USB? 2.5" HDD of the same grade as its 3.5" counterpart usually would produce better playback quality due to its smaller motor. The tradeoff is capacity. 2.5" GB per dollar is higher and the largest available at the moment when price is not a concern is only 2TB.

我都發觉，但最後都Nas streaming因為Netgear 接Daphile揀歌唔穩定，的聲太柔。轉了fanless Nas 动态大好多，今日老板都话正。下面我友台Netgear 接USB 3.0的分享。

stanley c hing, 我係用 DS213，用了兩年。一路 upload 都係 5-8M/s，按上網的 Q&A, Forum 的 setting 都無改變。早排睇 forum 講 jumbo frame 用意係加快 file transfer，但都要雙方夾到先得。咁我誤打誤撞，諗住睇下 disable 咗個 jumbo frame 會再慢成點，點知個 upload speed 會快到咁。

我原來已經disabled.發觉慢因為我部PC用WiFi,接 Lan 线快好多，但聽歌S記唔及fanless Nas,同用Daphile 控制S记慢几拍。

Yes, I agree that Netgear router HDD with Daphile is not as stable to read files as NAS, however, I found the sound is much analog than NAS ( WD Mycloud is fanless). I also found 15' LAN cable and a switch in between router and Daphile PC play important roles to get good sound from CAS.

My config:
    2.5" Buffalo HDD > Netgear 3800 > 15' LAN cable> Linksys 4 port switch >  15' LAN cable > Daphile fanless PC

All items are supplied by LPS

I once tried Linksys AC1900 router  USB 3.0 with USB 3.0 HDD with SMPS, much stable in reading files, I guess a faster router will definite be better.

stanley c hing, 咁 enable 返佢看看會不會再快 D。
如果 PC 用 wifi 就唔會快，少過 10M/s。
