SACD 一般都有兩個 Layer ,一個是儲存 PCM data 16bit 44.1kHz,另一 Layer 是儲存 DSD data,SACD player 只能 digital output (AES/EBU or RCA) PCM data ie. 16bit 44.1kHz to DAC。現時 SACD Player 能 output DSD data to DAC 是要同廠 proprietary signal processing e.g. CH Precision, DCS, Esoteric. 有些 CD 機更不能 digital output SACD 內嘅 PCM data. CD 機能 digital output SACD PCM Data 包括 Philips CD-Pro2 transport based CD player and Sanyo transport based CD Player.
XLR: AES/EBU formatted for stereo linear PCM data.
If playing from disc the data on this output will be 16bits / 44.1kHz.)
If playing from a digital input the data on this output will be up to 24bits and up to 192kHz.
Digital inputs:
AES: XLR connector for AES/EBU formatted stereo linear PCM data, up to 24bits and up to 192kHz.
S/PDIF: same as AES, but S/PDIF formatted on RCA connector.
TOSLINK: same as S/PDIF, but on optical connector.
PLAYLINK: Proprietary links to future Playback Designs equipment.
PC: External USB-X connection to computers for sample rates up to 384kHz (PCM) and 6.1MHz (DSD)
It can accept and process incoming DSD digital data, but not output DSD data via digital output.
The official information was copied from PD website. In any case, only DoP, 24bit 174khz, better than no support but still non native dsd processing. But Why would people want to do that when playback is already a sacd player and can decode dsd data direct within the box or via USB input.
