Japaneses cable school of thought, conductor purity, conductor purity and conductor purity. It seems more midrange minded.

American cable school of thought, geometry, geometry and geometry, wider bandwidth, more transparency.

Which one do you prefer?

This is a complex issue, different cabling designer has different thoughts. Some may focus more on certain area and method, such as metallurgy, braiding techniques, shielding method and dielectric, and with a combination of these ideas to achieve their target sound.

My preference is neither Japanese nor American, I actually use mostly European brands, a big majority of my cabling is of European origin.

Sound has a lot of deal with the environment and culture the designer's up bringing. It has everything to with the culture. An Asian could not master a classical piece without studying lesson in Europe, likewise a white man tries to play Chinese classical. Looking at your system cai dan, you must have put heavy emphasis on refinement, tonal richness and details.  

It isn't hard to find Italian offerings have tendency toward warmness, France with more 华丽，English with fuller mid and etc. And of course, the world is now receiving well Swiss's "absolute" neutrality.
