玩CAS，用Mac mini做訊源定Fanless PC(例如淘寶的占美) + Daphile OS更好聲?
本身有係部notebook上試過用Daphile OS，的確比Windows好聲好多，所以諗緊買部fanless電腦仔長開黎播歌用，但又有唔少人推薦用Mac mini，到底邊種更好聲呢?

I use Mac mini for CAS 6 years now.  You need to install 3rd party player such as Amarra because iTunes sounds bad.  This year I installed Daphile in a fanless PC to replace my old MPD.  It sounds good, comparable to my Mac mini with Amarra.  Then I was recommended to try Bughead with Windows 8 in a fanless PC by a Ching, Holy Shxt,  it beats both Amarra and Daphile in the first song.  You don't need to believe me, try it yourself as Bughead is free.

我試了bug head，的確比Jriver要好不少，不過再試番8月出的DAPHILE感覺還是DAHILPE更好聽一點(主要是人聲和背景更黑一點點)，師兄你也可以試試!

有，real-time Kernel version, right?

其實我宜家有3個source, Mac Mini/Amarra, Daphile w/ realtime kernel 同 Bughead.  要方便，聽Daphile, 時間多D嘅例如太太出左街，就聽Bughead.

Budhead差唔多隔日就有新version,最近仲加埋All core Any Cures。未試就快D試下。

Yes. 想問你覺得同之前有咩分別? 你的 fanless PC 的 i7 係 dual core 定係 quad core?

My Daphile is installed in a Pentium quad core fanless PC whereas Budhead is installed in a i7 dual core.  You can say I did not compare Daphile and Budhead fairly as they are installed in difference configuration.  However my friend did compared Daphile (realtime kernel version) and the latest Budhead version then in the same i5 dual core fanless PC. He prefered Budhead.

Ic. Thx ching's sharing. I just wanna know if the latest Daphile would still depend on a decent hardware platform or config. I have my MB bios tuned and disabled all unnecessary I/O and that helps improve the SQ much.

Just upgraded to Windows 10.  Bughead runs smoothly in Windows 10 environment.

個人經驗，同一部 fanless 機，音質 win server 2012 > win8 > Daphile

All win with JPlay, Fidelizer。
PC 由有 fan 改 fanless 効果亦明顯，值得做，改善程度甚至比 PC 改用 LPS 大少少。

用 JPlay 既 JStreamer, 夾 MinimServer, 亦比 JRiver 好聲。

Why not use external hard disk for Daphile ?  

I think Minimserver installation is quite straight forward.  I installed once in Windows and find it not difficult but not sure if it is the same in Mac OS.

小弟在 diyaudio 分享了 Daphile 一些好聲的 setting，之前有好多 ching 聽感上有一些出入，相信和大家不同 setting 有關係，希望可以幫助一些玩過/玩緊 Daphile 的 ching

Thanks Suiping hing visited me last Sat and his recommendation for Daphile.  Now Daphile performance is closer to Bughead.  

However just learned that most of the Bughead users agreed version 5.53 is much better than 5.56 which I was using during Suiping Hing visit....  Now trying to install 5.53 again.
