There have always been discussions about single and bi wiring in forums in the West. Different people, because of their use of different amps and speakers, have come to different conclusions.
In summary:
* If the speaker cable is basic and ordinary, adding one (bi-wire), increases the gauge or strands in the cable, and that may help improve the sound. “May” but not “surely”.
* AV amps providing two output terminals for a single channel is to facilitate connection to more than one speaker. The purpose is NOT to “improve” the sound but to enable the owner to connect to more than one speaker. It is likely that there is only one output stage (not two output stages) in that single amp channel. What about audiophile stereo amps. Providing two output stages in one channel is unlikely to improve the sound, or may even degrade it if only one of the two stages is used to drive a speaker that only has one terminal (no bi-wire option). In that case, the owner MUST buy two speaker cables in order to utilise fully the two output stages. That would be an expensive requirement for those who use Odin and the like, but on the other hand getting very little or even no improvement in sound. Of course the owner may use a jumper to connect the two output stages of the amp to make it a single stage. So the audiophile amp manufacturer is 捉蟲 to provide two output stages in one channel.
