B&W 慶祝成立50周年，請了 TAS reviewer Alan Taffel 参觀了 B&W 在美國 Boston 的總部，看到了 將推出的旗艦 800D3 :

• For tweeter & midrange, the new 800 D3 is identical to the one-model-down 802 D3.
• The two new speakers look similar as well, have nearly identical height but not width.
• The flagship is wider to accommodate the main feature distinguishing it from the 802: a pair of 10" woofers
• 800D3 has lower distortion figures: 10db less second-order harmonic distortion, and 20db lower third-order harmonic distortion over both bass and midrange.
  

The 800 D3 woofer cabinet is fortified with an aluminum-reinforced wood “matrix” and thick steel plates behind the front baffle.


最令Alan Taffel 感到意外的是 : 800D3 will sell in the U.S. for US$30,000 a pair "only".

不過小弟認為，Classe Audio amps 並非 B&W 新D3系列 之最佳 partner!

至前都有報導話 B&W 800D3 係咁二十幾萬一對咁上下。

不過舊款 800D2是一隻一隻報價的，好似定價是HK$11500 一隻，有八至九折。如果新款要 US$30k 一隻又好似太貴，比舊款 800D2 貴兩倍幾。

其實 800D3 和 802D3 只差兩個大一點的低音單元和大一點低音聲箱，個價只貴過 802D3 一點也合理。

802D3 要十到尾，800D3 就二十頭。咁計如果擺得落， 800D3 就更抵買。

廿幾個對喇叭唔係重點！

重點係要有返個咁上下大既空間放佢！

然後再要有返咁上下既器材、線材、補品............

沒完沒了。。。
