Not all Class A amps are designed the same, so it is best to consult the operation manual for your particular amp.
Eds c Hing is absolutely correct for Pass Aleph amps. They are designed to operate normally between 50 to 55 deg C when the ambient temperature ranges from 10 to 33 deg C. To run the amps at high temps but to be safe for animals, plants and humans there is a thermistor that is set at 70 deg C and will cut power when the internal temp hit 70.
Mr Pass had measured that for his Aleph to sound its best will require around an hour for the voltages of the mosfets to stabilise and not based on subjective judgement.
Luckily in HK and in particularly the summer now, it takes less time to warm up lol |
