feellikecyber C-Hing's article encourages me to complete WB Vector 開箱 report tonight. Similarly, I would not answer any question related to price ( including PM )
I seldom replace equipment. My WB Orator and CJ MV55 served me for more than 10 years, they are very nice and reliable. As time goes, some minor issues appear. I think it may due to the high Humidity of HK weather.
Since last year, I start to thinking about upgrading the speaker . During a phone discussion with WB dealer to explore the possibility to upgrade the Orator by replacing it’s Bass units, dealer suggested that upgrading to Vector shall deliver the best C/P value.
Before going to dealer to listen Vector, I did some research and visited some HiFi shops. To my surprise, I cannot find any Shop in HK selling middle range WB floor standing loudspeaker . I cannot find WB Vector in HK. Some Shops in MongKok suggested me to try WB Discovery and showed me the price list. However, I cannot find Vector in their price list. I then check 淘寶, I can find WB Curve / Discovery and others, I still cannot find Vector . I found some review article at internet. Some C-hing in <hiendy> provided valuable comments. Advices from Carl and Luke of Wilson Benesch also useful. All review articles are very positive on Vector’s performance. WB is a low profile company and did not spent much money on marketing. And the market position of Vector is embarrassing, the speaker is high quality and the price is in relative middle range. HiFi market is diminishing, Customers are divided into two groups. People either buy more affordable OR more experience speaker.

Finally, I visit the dealer’s show room to listen Vector on a Saturday near Christmas so as to take the advantage of Christmas Sales. When I arrived the showroom, there are two very expensive setup near-by . :- Einstein OTL, Wilson Benesch Chimera . Another one is Audio Note 300B …. Vector is installed in a corner of the room and connected to a ROKSAN solid state integrated amp + ROKSAN CD. Vector’s physical size is very compact and is smaller than Orator .

The sound is just OK, Nevertheless, I recalled that 12 years ago when I met Orator in a HK Shop. The shop connected Orator to a Solid state amp, the sound was terrible. Then , the shop connected Orator to a Golden-Tube SE-40 value amp, Orator sounded great. So, I believe Vector is Great when I connect it to a tube amp. As Vector has two Tactic II Bass units, It delivers much better bass than Orator.
After waiting for months, Vector was delivered to Home at the same day that CJ Lp125sa+ arrived. These two stuffs are too heavy and take me a lot of time to unbox them and setup them up. CJ needs 30 minutes warm up before setup the initial bias. After setting up CJ bias, I listen the CD. Initially, the sound is rather “Thin” . So I connect the setup to TV for run-in

Although Vector is more compact than Orator, after around 20 hours run-in, the lp125sa+ + Vector KO MV55 + Orator. There are more solid base, more transparent, more natural and more detail. I am personally very impressed by the new CJ and Vector combination.
I then check the WB manual and try to find out how-much time is needed for run-in. WB manual said the Vector needs around 70 hours for run-in. However, CJ manual did not mention anything about the run-in time. I send email to CJ for advice. I am very pleased to learn that Dr. Lew Johnson ( who is the founder of CJ ) replied my email. He said “The Teflon capacitors in your LP125sa+ will take on the order of 200 to 300 hours to fully run-in though this effect is not as dramatic on the power amplifiers as it is on the preamps.… “. As I may only able to allocate around 5 - 6 hrs. per week on HiFi, which means it will take around 1 year for CJ fully run-in …… 
Even the setup did not fully run-in … the sound already very lovely …
