與其用sd card player取代電腦同cd player, 如果有budget不如換部可以直讀usb drive嘅DAC

My place is very small and cannot host a trial session.
But in case for a trial, we will compare the quality as a transport (PC, Streaming Device, SD Player and etc).

So, how to setup the transport is very important:

- For PC, I don't think a typical desktop PC, netbook, notebook or Macbook will have very good quality as computer transport. Of course, a CAS-oriented PC is totally another story.

- For Streaming Device, I think there are many high-hand here to contribute how to setup a good streaming environment

the cost u spend on good computer source will be far more than cd card player and yet the result not necessarily better.....

You are correct.
If you only have HK$1-2K for transport (not include DAC), then I think the MPD and the SD Player will do a very good job.

But if we are talking about the ultimate quality and spending more money, I would like to know which route would be better at this moment.

師兄你講得無錯, 價錢比較之下, sd card player嘅玩法的確最平

不過你試過之後, 有無出現薄聲嘅情況???

薄聲 or not very much depends on quality of dac, speaker and listening environment.
Source of music of course play a significant role as well.
This sd card player has no problem with high end gears, good image, speakers invisible, clean background. No distortion at various sound pressure level...

some commercial music servers are actually using MPD as core engine, they are essentially computer in essence.
price sometimes may not reflect the quality properly, just listen and compare

我以前有過咁嘅經歷...

最初我用DAC有cd player 同 mp3 player 做 source...
mp3 player其實係iphone, 用dock轉USB入DAC...d聲真係薄咗...
後來轉返用電腦USB入DAC, d聲就好返晒...
想知道sd card player會唔會有依個情況? 我自己覺得薄咗聲應該唔關DAC事...

當前大多的HD播放器都可以插SD card及Hard Driver, 個人感覺系Hard Driver最好﹐
而且比SD card及ＵＳＢcard　高速。關鍵在裡面的時基只系適合48KHZ,96KHZ 192KHZ,播
44.1KHZ文件感覺有一點抖動。

iOmega has USB 1T hard driver, It's a USB hard driver and HD player, but I don't understand why it support 1080i only.

Anyway I don't like it, I like play digital audio by computer that is very easy. And I think the CPU high speed is important

coming soon, for playing WAV file only, digital output so need a DAC, digital conversion by WOLFSON WM8805
with a good power supply, sound may be ok...
