Over the past 1yr, in terms of DAC and media servers, there are many new products emerged. At the price of 301, there are plentiful of choices! Many of them already support DSD!

Man 301 also supports DSD now! the best thing about the Man 301 is the upgradability, over the almost one year ownership, it continues to evolve and it can play internet radio and use the same database of Gracenote, truely excellent unit.

is it easy to link up with nas directly.  just simply plug the lan cable ?
My friend have problem to link. The IPad show the nas but can't activate it.

If your friend is using LAN directly connected to MAN301, and he/she can see it the NAS under "Storage", that means hardware connection is correct.

For all NAS settings, your friend may setup a user profile. Then he/she will need to login with user name/password in order to go into the music folder and mount that folder. That user profile may not be the same as NAS administrate login.

The DSD64, DSD128 file support will be launched within this or next week. This is the first DSD playback support with Gracenote metadata and album artwork. Thanks.

Sorry, I should use this account to reply you. That was an old account. Anyway, tomorrow MAN301 will release V1.1.1 software that will support DSD64 / DSD128 including metadata and album artwork. We will also test it by tomorrow. Thank you.

My friend has try to update the new firmware but unfortunately it can't complete.
He try several times, each time when it go to install the firmware , it will show the network is closed. It make him so exhausted. Anyway he will try it again tomorrow !

I have not try this update personally, but there are few procedures for any software update:

1) Download update package...when it is completed
2) Install update package....when it is completed.
3) Reboot

If the software update is downloaded, (step1 is finished) even there is no internet, step 2) and 3) should go on. Maybe there are too many people downloading the update. Anyway, tomorrow I will test and will report back.

Beware that when the update windows appears, if you click or touch other area besides the update windows, will hide it. But of course you can click on update button to let the windows re-appear.
